General Aftercare
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: water is how energy maintains a good flow through your energetic field. After energetic healings and clearings, it’s essential to drink water.
Let it Go: Read your report, then make a conscious effort not to ruminate on its contents. Remember, thoughts and emotions are forms of energy, and if you hold onto any of the energies that were removed, you can inadvertently call them back, rendering your clearing ineffective in the long run.
How are you feeling?
Not everyone feels like rainbows and sunshine after an energetic clearing. Check in with yourself and honor where you are and what you are feeling. Sometimes, when heavy or dark energy is cleared, it can feel like you are a bit lighter or off-balance for a while. Hydrate, ground, and make space for some self-care.
You may not feel anything at all after a clearing – and that’s appropriate too, though you most likely will
notice slight differences in your interests, food choices, thought patterns, or how your energy feels. You
may simply feel lighter and find yourself in a state of joy, smiling and laughing a bit more.

What Now?
While most of the energy work is done during the session, residual energy remains active for days following a clearing and healing. During this time, your energy is regrouping and establishing a new, elevated baseline. Please continue to maintain your established protection routines and spiritual hygiene during this time.
If you don’t already have an energy protection routine or practice spiritual hygiene,

Overview: Spiritual Hygiene & Protecting your energy!
Energy protection is about intention, visualization, and consistency - yes, it’s that simple!
Good Daily Practices:
Grounding: Grounding is the cornerstone of all energetic and spiritual work. It provides a stable and balanced foundation for feeling centered and present in physical reality. Daily visualization of being anchored to the earth through roots extending from our feet and the root chakra can achieve this. Put your own “style” to this visualization so you stand firmly in the belief and connection. Another great way to ground yourself is by spending time in nature, among the trees, hiking, or engaging in other outdoor activities. Some of the best grounding can be achieved with bare feet on the earth or by placing your “back to bark” leaning on a tree.§ When you need to ground, look out for feelings of disconnection, clumsiness, fatigue, anxiety, stress, and mental or emotional imbalance. These are signals from our energetic field that grounding is needed.
Shielding Your Energy: Shielding visualizations are as unique as the individual creating them. All that is needed is an intention for protection and a visualization that resonate with the individual. Here are some examples:
-
Golden Bubble of Light: Imagine yourself in a glowing bubble of light (any color you choose).
-
Pyramid of Light: See yourself sitting in a giant pyramid or suit of armor made of light.
-
Column of Light: Visualize golden/white light pouring over you, washing negativity into the Earth.
-
For Kids: Make it fun! Let their imagination guide them in creating a magical shield, bubble, a twirling ball of glitter or stars, or even a magical spacesuit.
Discernment: Protecting one’s energy field involves using discernment, taking intentional actions, avoiding substances such as drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and refraining from places and events where these are the focus. Use your "gut feeling," which has always been with you, is part of your energetic design, and typically speaks before the mind. Awareness of this guiding system and practice, practice, practice is what it is all about. Discernment should be used in online spaces, with healers, teachers, and even in the videos you watch... after all, it is all energy!

Eat Clean: When possible, choose organic, high-vibe foods, fresh foods from the earth and in their natural state, or eat from your own garden. Avoid bioengineered food, factory-farmed meats, and processed junk.
Meditate: Sometimes the word 'meditation' evokes a sigh or an eye roll. Meditation can take many forms, such as sitting in silence, gardening, cooking, listening to music, writing/journaling, or drawing –turning inwards for a few moments and being present tunes you into your own frequency and expands your energy. When using guided meditations online, use a trusted source and always use your discernment. Meditation can last anywhere from two minutes to two hours and beyond – it’s up to you!
Affirmations: The words you place after “I Am” are powerful.
You can use “I Am” statements to rewire your thoughts and elevate your energy. Where this may seem silly, we are all programmed at an early age to look outside of ourselves for what we "should" look like, feel like, and how we "should" present ourselves to the world. These statements can help you rebuild yourself from the inside out. Here's the How: Begin catching negative thoughts or words you use to speak to or about yourself, and start changing them.
-
Instead of saying, “I AM tired. I AM exhausted.” Try, “I feel tired. I feel exhausted.”
-
Integrate more powerful positive affirmations in small moments of your day: “I AM Safe. I AM Beautiful. I AM Powerful. I AM Grateful. I AM Worthy. I AM Strong. I AM Enough.”
-
On a walk, hike, commute, or while you clean the house, listen to "I AM" affirmations easily found on YouTube (from a reliable source, and please use your discernment for this).
Emotional Check-ins: Process your emotions to heal past wounds. Emotions are a part of life, and they are, in fact, e-motions = energy in motion. This means they are meant to flow through you, not stay. Emotions are our messengers and our teachers. Feel them and release them. Journaling helps!
There are many other ways to protect and care for yourself and your energy, so do what feels right for you!
